Salary: As a serving Police Officer, you will join on your existing pay point which will be between £31,164 - £50,256 per annum. The South East Allowance payment of £2,000 per annum will also apply.

Intake Date: 23rd - 30th November 2026 & 1st - 8th February 2027.

This pathway is designed for officers currently serving in a non‑Home Office police force whose experience and capabilities align with the specialist skills profile supported through a tailored training plan.

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from serving Constables in a non‑Home Office police force, who have experience policing:

• National or regional transport networks
• Sites and services essential to daily life
• High‑footfall public environments
• Complex safeguarding, vulnerability, and public protection demands

This opportunity is intended for officers who are now seeking to transition into a Home Office force environment and broaden their policing operational experience.

The Recruitment Process

The recruitment process consists of:

• Sift
• Online assessment process
• A CVF‑based interview

Following a successful interview, a conditional offer will be issued and pre‑employment checks initiated. These include:

• Vetting
• Medical
• Fitness test
• References

The recruitment process typically takes approximately four to six months from receipt of application.

Training and Support

You will attend a six‑day Hampshire & Isle of Wight Familiarisation Course, designed to:

• Introduce you to policing structures, systems, and local context

• Ensure you are prepared to work safely, confidently, and effectively

• Assess how your previous training, operational competence, and specialist skills can transfer

Following induction, a Targeted Training Needs Analysis will be completed with your line manager to support your first three months in role and identify development priorities.

We recognise the value of your existing skills and will seek to retain and utilise these wherever operationally possible.

Pay and Conditions

• You will join on your existing pay point (£31,164 – £50,256 per annum)

• South East Allowance of £2,000 per annum applies

• Previous service in your current force will be recognised for continuous service and pay progression
  
  

From a regulatory perspective, officers joining from a non‑Home Office police force are regarded as new recruits rather than formal transferees, and a probationary period will apply.

Essential Experience and Qualifications

You must;

• Be a serving Constable in a non‑Home Office police force who has experience in policing:  National or regional transport networks, Sites and services essential to daily life, High‑footfall public environments, Complex safeguarding, vulnerability, and public protection demands 
  
  
• Have completed your probationary period (or equivalent)
  
  
• Have no current performance or conduct matters
  
  
• Not be a member of any organisation whose values conflict with the Code of Ethics or the Standards of Professional Behaviour
  
  
• Hold the appropriate qualifications for your rank
  
  
• Hold a full UK manual or automatic driving licence
  
  
• Have resided in the UK for at least three years
  
  
• Meet all national eligibility and vetting standards
  
  

In addition, successful candidates must:

• Pass all pre‑employment checks (medical, fitness, vetting)
  
  
• Be available to attend the 6 day Hampshire & Isle of Wight Familiarisation Course
  
  
• Ensure any visible tattoos are compliant with force policy
